《梵高和阿姆斯特丹的画家们》开幕式首都博物馆郭小凌馆长致辞

大家下午好。欢迎来到首都博物馆参加《梵高和阿姆斯特丹的画家们》展览开幕仪式。

Good afternoon!  Welcome to the Capital Museum for the launch ceremony of the Van Gogh and the Amsterdam Impressionists exhibition.

我对《梵高和阿姆斯特丹的画家们》这个展览在首都博物馆的成功举办深感荣幸。作为北京市乃至中国的文化窗口，首都博物馆很高兴能向海内外观众隆重介绍来自北京友好城市阿姆斯特丹的艺术成就。

On behalf of the museum, I feel privileged to host the exhibition here. As the cultural window of Beijing and even China, the Capital Museum is very much honored to introduce to the spectators the great artistic achievements of our sister city Amsterdam.

梵高这个名字在中国可谓耳熟能详。他的传奇人生、超凡天赋和不朽作品始终都在打动中国美术爱好者的心灵。本次展览将展出梵高的一幅《自画像》，这是他1887年在巴黎创作的纸板油画。由于生前穷困潦倒，梵高无钱聘请模特，只好靠给自己画像来钻研技法。画面上的梵高尽管瘦削憔悴、表情严肃，但目光炯炯有神、坚忍不拔，流露出他对艺术的无比热爱和执着追求。这幅画是梵高的代表作之一，当之无愧属于世界名画。

The name of Van Gogh is frequently heard in China.  His legendary life, outstanding talents and immortal works have always touched the Chinese art-lovers. This exhibition is going to show a  Self-Portrait of Van Gogh, painted on cardboard in Paris in 1887.  Suffering from poverty during his lifetime, Van Gogh couldn’t afford a model to sit for him, so that he used himself as the model to practice painting techniques.  We will see from the painting an angular and solemn face of Van Gogh, but a pair of bright and piercing eyes speaks about his passion for arts.  This painting is one of Van Gogh’s representative works and fully deserves a world masterpiece.

除了梵高这幅作品，本次展览还展出其他几位阿姆斯特丹画家的10幅印象派油画作品。这些画家跟梵高是同时代人，彼此在艺术风格方面产生过重要影响。他们的艺术创作繁荣了荷兰19世纪末的文化，让我们体会到荷兰在那个时代的风土人情、迷人景色和独特魅力。

In addition to Van Gogh’s work, this exhibition also presents 10 impressionist paintings made by a few Amsterdam artists.  They lived at the same time as Van Gogh and influenced each other in terms of artistic styles.  Their artistic creation enriched the Dutch culture towards the end of 19 century, and provides us an opportunity to know about the local customs and amazing sceneries in Holland at that time.

这次展览是首都博物馆第一次与荷兰同行合作，也是第一次展出梵高作品。我希望它能在北京掀起一股艺术欣赏热潮，同时促进北京与阿姆斯特丹两座城市的友谊，并加深中荷两国人民的相互了解。

It is the first time that the Capital Museum cooperates with our Dutch colleagues; as well it’s the first time that Van Gogh’s work visits this place.  I wish the exhibition will raise a great fervor in Beijing, at the meantime, promotes the friendship between Beijing and Amsterdam, and deepen the mutual understanding of the people of both countries.

这次展览的成功举办得益于多方协助。我要感谢阿姆斯特丹市、北京市人民政府、北京市人民政府对外事务办公室和北京市文物局，感谢荷兰阿姆斯特丹国立博物馆以及赞助商，还要感谢为这次展览付出努力的所有工作人员。

Without the assistance of various parties, this exhibition won’t be successfully delivered.  I would like to take the chance to express my deepest appreciation to the Amsterdam government, Beijing municipal government, Beijing municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage, and the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam as well as all the sponsors.
