　　艺术家荣念曾简介

　　荣念曾是跨界艺术家，以香港为基地，过去三十年不断以漫画、录像、文字、剧场、概念艺术等形式的实验创作，以及文化政策规划者的角色推动文化。1982年与一众青年朋友成立剧团“进念。二十面体”，并自1985年出任其艺术总监。荣氏现为香港当代文化中心主席及西九文化区及香港设计中心董事局成员。

　　荣念曾为香港实验电影及录像艺术的先驱，短片及录像装置广于国际电影及录像艺术节展出。视艺装置《中国礼物》于1999年入选纽约亚洲协会的INSIDE/OUT: New Chinese Art展览，于全美及亚洲巡回展出。个展“树。人”(2003)及“寻找新中国”(2011)两度于1a空间举行。概念漫画《天天向上》亦曾于香港、上海、北京、台北、新加坡、巴黎及安阿伯展出。去年与64位本地设计师合作，于其设计的“天天”塑像上发挥创意，作品展于“香港：创意生态 ─ 商机、生活、创意”，为香港参与上海世博节目之一。荣氏在2009年获德国政府颁予“联邦十字丝带勋章”以表扬他对艺术文化的贡献。

　　The Hong Kong-based multi-disciplinary artist Danny Yung has been working inthe Hong Kong cultural sector for three decades. He is a man ofmany talents –

　　theatre director,film producer, playwright, stage designer, arts festival and forum curator,video and installation artist, and cartoonist. He has writtenmany critical essays on cultural policies inAsia. In 1982, he helped found the artscollective Zuni Icosahedron and has served as its Artistic Directorsince 1985.

　　Yungis among the pioneersof Hong Kong experimental film and video. His short films, videos and videoinstallation have been shown in Berlin, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, London, NewYork, Rotterdam and Tokyo. His artworks ‘Gifts from China’ were selected in 1999 for INSIDE/OUT: NewChinese Art by the Asia Society in New York, and were exhibited in museumsacross US and Asia. His solo art exhibitions ‘Tree‧Man’ and ‘In Search of New China’ have been hosted at 1a space in 2003 and 2011 respectively. His ‘Tian Tian Xiang Shang’ conceptualcartoon series was exhibited in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei,Singapore, Ann Arbor and Paris. Last year, he collaborated with the Hong KongDesign Centre and invited 64 Hong Kong designers to creativity express theirresponse to a Tian Tian figure designed by him. The resulting works were shownat the "Hong Kong: Creative Ecologies – Business, Living, Creativity" design exhibition, a HKSARprogramme for the Shanghai Expo. 

　　Yung also servespro bono for various cultural and advocacy entities, including chairman of theHong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture , and as a board member of the WestKowloon Cultural District Authority and the Hong Kong Design Centre. In 2009, he was bestowed theMerit Cross of the Order of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany。
